I support the Iron Cross Stamp by Arminius1871 I support the Iron Cross Stamp by Arminius1871
The Iron Cross was a military decoration in the Kingdom of Prussia, and later in the German Empire (1870–1918) and Nazi Germany (1939–1945). It was established by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and first awarded on the 10th of March in 1813 during the Napoleonic Wars (EK 1813). The recommissioned Iron Cross was also awarded during the Franco-Prussian War (EK 1870), World War I (EK 1914), and World War II (EK 1939, re-introduced with a swastika added in the center). The Iron Cross was normally a military decoration only, though there were instances of it being awarded to civilians for performing military functions.

The design of the cross symbol was black with a white or silver outline. It was ultimately derived from the cross patty occasionally used by the Teutonic Order from the 13th century.[1] The black cross patty was also used as the symbol of the German Army from 1871 to March/April 1918, when it was replaced by the bar cross. In 1956, it was re-introduced as the symbol of the Bundeswehr, the modern German armed forces.

A symbol of bravery, freedom and honour.

Never mind, as long as it's not made of paper lol
New-made ones I can accept too, as long as it's Iron Cross and ofc not made of paper

But still, I would already be really happy if I get one Iron Cross drawing as a gift :)

The Iron Cross is an icon of the German military. It should be treasured as it represents bravery and courage.

I never knew about that Dreieck, I prefer the cross too XD
Did Austrians get the iron cross in 1813-1815 too? Or only
Prussians?

I have to correct myself! The Iron Cross is a kind of Cross pattée. According to Wikipedia, the Cross pattée has been used in the Austrian Empire since the end of the Napolionic Wars! It was the majestic symbol of all Austro-Hungarian aircrafts from 1915 to 1918!
(so I wasn't totally wrong)

I am not too sure because I am no expert in this subject, but I don't think so. Probably only Prussians used it at the beginning. I guess that it started to become popular in Austria during WW1. In this article are some informations about its usage in Austrian Military history. austria-forum.org/af/Wissenssa…

There were also some military medals which were quite similar to the Iron Cross. In this picture you can see a very good example.ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I…

It can be only used if there is a new war. They could´ve used it in the Afghanistan conflict,
but they wanted to hide it´s a war.

I see.
(I mean the decoration, though.)
Isn't that silly? I mean, everyone in the world can see it's a war!
My definition of "war": If they're shooting at each other, it's a war... :)

Yes war against terror at least, fair enough. But maybe it´s better
the BRD doesn´t because it can´t represent the real Germany well
anyway.
