The radio-operators-song

by Bernd Wübbecke

Everybody. Attention!
Everybody. Fall in!
We are marching in rank and row.
Everybody. Attention!
Everybody. Fall in!
Do you know the radio-operators-song?
It´s about the radio messaging,
and about love as well.
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!

In the small town,
lives a girl,
and we all love her so much,
because she has two blue eyes.
Blonde hair, seventeen years,
say what more do we want?
We radio-operators?

As we are from the radio-operators company,
and we always send out: I love - I love you.
And all the girls are listening to it:
Dee dah dee dit, dee dah dee dit ("L"ove)

Although the service is tough,
and the carbine hurts,
we do never despair.
Whether the hand is aching,
or the sand is crunching,
the sweat is running down the face.

Then a song strucks up,
through the rank and through the row,
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!

In the small town,
lives a girl,
and we all love her so much,
because she has two blue eyes.
blonde hair, seventeen years,
say what more do we want?
We radio-operators?

As we are from the radio-operators company,
and we always send out: I love - I love you.
And all the girls are listening to it:
Dee dah dee dit, dee dah dee dit ("L"ove)

When the sunday has arrived,
we are going with hooray,
into the small town.
Everybody wants to show then,
that he can dance,
with the beautiful girl.

When the violin is singing,
and a Waltz-song is sounding,
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!

1. Alle aufgepaßt!
Alle Tritt gefaßt!
Wir marschieren in Reih und Glied.
Alle aufgepaßt!
Alle Tritt gefaßt!
Kennt ihr das Funkerlied?
Von der Funkerei
Und der Liebe nebenbei
Singt alle fröhlich mit,
Singt, Kameraden, mit:

In dem Städtchen
Wohnt ein Mädchen
Und das lieben wir so sehr,
Denn es hat zwei blaue Augen,
Blonde Haare,
Siebzehn Jahre,
Sag', was wollen wir noch mehr,
Wir Funkersoldaten?
|: Denn wir sind ja von der L.N. Kompanie,
Und wir geben stets: "Ich liebe, liebe Sie",
Und alle Mädel hören mit.
Di da di dit, di da di dit! :|
2. Ist der Dienst auch schwer,
Drückt das Schießgewehr,
Wir verzagen alle nicht;
Ob auch schmerzt die Hand,
Ob auch knirscht der Sand,
Der Schweiß strömt vom Gesicht.
Dann ertönt ein Lied
Wie von selbst durch Reih und Glied,
Singt alle fröhlich mit,
Singt Kameraden, mit:
In dem Städtchen wohnt . . . .

3. Ist der Sonntag da,
Geht es mit Hurra
In das Städtelein hinein.
Jeder zeiget dann,
Daß er tanzen kann
Mit den schönen Mägdelein.
Wenn die Geige singt
Und ein Walzerlied erklingt,
Dann singen alle mit,
Dann singen alle mit:
In dem Städtchen wohnt . . . .

I never knew war songs would be this happy.

Well war-songs are usually all happy, because they must motivate you,
so most of the german songs sing about the beautiful girl, flowers, the homeland,
proud marching and so on :)

There is usually no "evil" sounding march XD

Yeah, like Kalinka from the Red Army Choir. It's about some country girls, strawberries and raspberries.

It's Korobeiniki.

Jesus, why does everyone no longer know the real name of that song?

I enjoy any kind of music, except those that are overly Christian or made by Justin Bieber.
